EpiC Nigeria Honored with Government Partnership Excellence Award at USAID HIV/AIDS & TB Implementing Partners Meeting

AN EPIC SUCCESS STORY

We are thrilled to share that the EpiC Nigeria team received the prestigious USAID Government Partnership Excellence Award.

From November 6 to 8, 2024, the EpiC Nigeria team joined other USAID-funded HIV/AIDS and TB implementing partners for a three-day, in-person meeting in Abuja, Nigeria. Held as part of preparations for PEPFAR’s 2025 Country Operating Plan (COP), the meeting focused on addressing emerging issues and priorities in program implementation.  The event brought together key leaders to discuss updates, share insights, and align on sustainability strategies under the UNAIDS-led Sustainability Roadmap exercise. The meeting agenda centered on strengthening partnerships, tackling programmatic challenges, and highlighting pathways to achieving long-term impact in HIV/AIDS and TB interventions.

Dr Hadiza Khamofu (Project Director, EpiC Nigeria) Matthew-David Ogbechie (Director of Strategic Information, EpiC), Sunday Emah (Associate Director, Compliance, FHI 360) and Nasiru Shehu Abdu (Disease Oversight Advisor, EpiC) represented the EpiC Nigeria team. The meeting culminated in a special recognition ceremony, where EpiC Nigeria  was presented with an award and  celebrated for their dedication and outstanding contributions  to building sustainable health systems. The award citation reads:

“EpiC Nigeria demonstrated measurable contributions to US Government objectives, maintained effective communication and collaboration with all relevant government and community stakeholders, and invested in training and upskilling government staff, promoting long-term impact. To recognize exceptional partnership, collaboration, and commitment to advancing US Government initiatives. This partner has demonstrated high standards in service, responsiveness, and innovation, helping to achieve critical milestones and enhance public service impact.”

Receiving this award reflects our dedication to leaving no one behind. It is both a recognition of our team’s hard work and a motivation to continue driving impactful collaborations. As we move forward, EpiC remains committed to supporting government-led efforts, strengthening systems that ensure quality, accessible HIV/AIDS and TB services across Nigeria.

Congratulations to the entire EpiC Nigeria team and our partners for this significant milestone!
