Bringing Healthcare Closer: Highlights from the Free Medical Outreach in AMAC/Bwari

We are thrilled to share the impactful moments from the Free Medical Outreach hosted in AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency. This event, themed “Service to Humanity in AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency,” brought together dedicated healthcare professionals, volunteers, and community members for two days of free medical services.

Highlights from the Outreach

  • Collaborative Effort: Organized by Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, this outreach was powered by partnerships with FHI 360 and other organizations, reflecting the strength of collective commitment to improving healthcare access.
  • Event Details: Held at the World Harvest Church in Jikwoyi, the program served as a beacon of hope for many. Over two days, the outreach ran from 10 AM to 4 PM, providing vital healthcare services to over 795 clients.
  • Key Medical Services Provided:
    Attendees benefitted from:
    • Free consultations and diagnostic tests
    • Free prescriptions and medications
    • Referrals for specialized care
      Common illnesses treated included malaria, hypertension, diarrhea, upper respiratory infections, and more.

The event commenced with a warm welcome from Hon. Obika, followed by keynote addresses from notable dignitaries, including Sen. Ireti Kingibe and representatives from SAM Empowerment Foundation and Engr. Mbaka Foundation. These speeches underlined the collective resolve to bring healthcare closer to our communities.

Dr. Achor Olaitan, Senior Technical Advisor at TQLA/DSD ACE 1, alongside Amina Garba and Angel Nwoji, actively participated by providing free medical consultations and services. Their efforts, along with those of other health workers and volunteers, left a lasting impact on the community.

The outreach was met with immense gratitude from the community. Testimonials from attendees highlighted how the initiative improved their access to healthcare and addressed critical health concerns. With 319 clients served on Day 1 and 476 clients on Day 2, the outreach exemplified the power of service to humanity.
