NNPC/SNEPCo’s supported 20-bed capacity primary health care in bama LGA

On the 22nd of September 2022, FHI 360 held a Walk-Through event following the completion of the 20-Bed capacity primary health care in Bama LGA, constructed and equipped by NNPC/ SNEPCo under the Integrated Humanitarian Assistance to internally displaced Persons (IHAP+2) project. The newly constructed primary health care center will contribute to providing health care services to the people of Bama LGA and its neighboring communities.

FHI 360 had in attendance various dignitaries from the state and local government representatives, including the representative of the Shehu of Bama, Alhaji Baba Shehu Barma. The event commenced with an opening remark by the FHI 360’s field coordinator for the IHAP+2 project, Dr. Samaila Yusuf. He highlighted the support of all stakeholders, which has made the project and even a success. He then appreciated the staff’s commitment towards ensuring affected persons have access to quality healthcare and other services.

The representative of the Shehu of Bama, Alhaji Baba Shehu Barma, in his remark, appreciated FHI 360 for the construction, which they consider a lifesaving assistance to the people of Bama. He further said the structure is one of a kind in Bama LGA, and he lauded NNPC/SNEPCo for equipping the facility with drugs, equipment, and other health commodities. He promised the center would be maintained and used for its intended purpose.

Other notable moments and dignitaries at the event include presentations from the Project Coordinator, Nari Welye, the Emirate Council Secretary, Alhaji Lawan Makinta, representative of Commandant 21 Special Armored Brigade (SAB) Bama, Capt. A. Adekunle, Deputy Director of Primary PHC, Ibrahim Waziri, LGA Secretary: Alhaji Mutawali Kaumi, Desk Officer Bama and Alhaji Abba Ahmed. The dignitaries also visited the community’s newly drilled boreholes, rehabilitated water points and constructed latrines and lauded the support of NNPC/SNEPCo and FHI 360.
