Annual Technical Assistance Review Meeting for the FHI 360 SPEED Project
FHI 360 hosted its Annual Technical Assistance Review Meeting in Lagos, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing transformation of the SPEED project. The meeting was a dynamic opportunity for technical staff and leadership to collaborate, celebrate achievements, and align on strategic goals for FY25.
The three-day event provided a platform for in-depth discussions on the future of the project. At the heart of the meeting was the desire to continue improving health outcomes by refining strategies and tailoring technical assistance to specific needs. It was clear that FY24 had brought significant progress, but the focus was now on building upon that momentum for an even greater impact.
One of the key highlights was a session on “Appreciative Inquiry” led by Dr. Sunny Philips, which encouraged participants to reflect on the project’s successes as a foundation for future innovation.
Moreover, discussions on the Total Quality Leadership and Accountability (TQLA) approach, spearheaded by Dr. Bashir, illustrated the significance of data-driven solutions, adaptive leadership, and mutual accountability. By leveraging real-time data, stakeholders committed to making informed decisions that would enhance both performance and outcomes.
The meeting also highlighted pressing areas needing intervention, such as improving case-finding among men and viral load suppression for pediatrics and adolescents. Concrete plans were set to address these challenges, ensuring that the SPEED project remains responsive to the evolving needs of the communities it serves.
With the integration of new tools, such as GIS mapping for resource allocation and innovative feedback models like the Situation Behaviour Impact (SBI) model, the participants left the meeting with a renewed sense of purpose.
As FY25 approaches, FHI 360’s commitment to excellence in technical assistance remains unwavering, guided by the collaborative spirit and forward-thinking strategies set during this landmark meeting.
The success of this review meeting is already setting the stage for impactful changes in FY25. From refining leadership approaches to prioritizing data utilization, the SPEED project is poised for sustained success and, most importantly, improved health outcomes across Nigeria. With a collective commitment to innovation and excellence, the future looks promising.
