\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn December 2022, with support from MOSAIC, the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) launched Gen-N (HIV Negative Generation) as the first-ever national youth-focused HIV prevention campaign in Nigeria.\nSince then, MOSAIC has been providing TA to NACA on the development of an Activity Implementation Plan (AIP) to support the sub-national rollout of the Gen-N Campaign, the draft AIP was approved by NACA in August 2023.\nFollowing this NACA with support from MOSAIC convened a National Stakeholders Coordination Meeting in Abuja on 21st<\/sup> September 2023 to present the AIP to the stakholders and get their buy-in to support the finalization and implementation of the AIP as a national document. The meeting had in attendance 35 participants representing NACA, USAID, CDC, UNICEF, Implementers, Federal Ministry of Education, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, UNAIDS, UNESCO, and Youth-led CSOs.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Adaobi (MOSAIC NGS) presented the story behind Gen-N as a brief refresher on how the Gen-N brand was designed using HCD-lite while Dr. Daniel Ndukwe (Head of Prevention, NACA) presented the AIP to the stakeholders. The stakeholders provided feedback and highlighted the activities in the AIP that they will be supporting\/ leading. The AIP was endorsed by the stakeholders and plans are being made by NACA to being implementation with support from all the stakeholders.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The myths that immunization is the “white man’s” way of achieving family planning and population control preceded the humanitarian crisis. Lack of knowledge about preventing the six killer childhood diseases \u2013 pneumonia, malaria, diarrheal, measles, HIV, and meningitis; the beliefs that witches spiritually cause ill-health, unorthodox medicine, and religion contributed to hinder immunization programs.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
